THE PNG Rugby Football League has extended the deadline from April 30 for all current and intending rugby league associations in the country who wish to affiliate by another month.
PNGRFL chief executive officer Reatau Rau said due to an urgent request from the four Confederates, the deadline for all player and league registrations and affiliations will now close on May 31.
“The registration fee is K50 per player/official of which K20 is for insurance and K30 for administration and the affiliation fee is K500 per rugby league association.
“These payments must be deposited directly to the PNGRFL Inc. Insurance Admin Account No. 7011593956, BSP Port Moresby by May 31,” Rau said.
Rau urged the leagues not to wait until the May 31 deadline to settle their registration and affiliations are in order.
He said registrations and affiliation books must be sent in weekly starting tomorrow and onwards so that the accounts were reconciled.
“Please send the books and registration deposits as they are completed each Friday starting this week so that accounts are reconciled and updated progressively weekly until June 7,” Rau said.
“We need these books and bank deposits weekly so that the insurance requirements set by the PNG Health Assurance (PHA) are strictly met and adhered to and you can start your competitions,” Rau said.
“This is very important.”
The books must be sent weekly to: PNGRFL P.O. Box 1845, Boroko, NCD or hand delivered to the PNGRFL office (Suite 1, NFS, Laurabada Ave, Boroko, NCD).
Meanwhile, former NRl referee Shayne Hayne is in Port Moresby at the behest of the PNGRFL to run a course fro the country’s top six referees to prepare with an eye to officiating Intrust Super Cup matches in the future.
Referees: Paul Wani, Aaron Henry, Max Topani, James Kundi, Hanua Rupa and McKenzie Dokta.
The PNGRFL will also be launching its Mini and Modified (or Mini Mod) programme for children (7-12 years) with Rau, Hayne and Hunters coach Michael Marum to attand.
