Pokana helps Cassowaries book place in T20 final

Bowler Nosaina Pokana on Wednesday took four wickets to help the Cassowaries seal a spot in today’s Curtain Brothers T20 Smash final with the Cassowaries collecting an eight-wicket haul against the Mariners at Amini Park.
The Cassowaries face the winners of today’s major semifinal between the Mudmen and Black Bass.
The final match on Wednesday saw the Mariners lose their sixth-straight game of the tournament.
The Mariners, who won the toss, opted to bat first and were all out for 100 runs from 18.4 overs with Papua New Guinea Barramundis’ Nosaina Pokana taking four wickets, earning himself the man of the match while teammate Michael Charlie bagged a double.
Cassowaries’ Tony Ura (54 from 33) and Raho Sam (32 from 22) helped their side chase down their target in 10.3 overs.
The first match on Wednesday saw Black Bass beat the Mudmen side by three wickets with Charles Amini Jr scoring 44 not-out to help his side chase the Mudmen’s 140.
Today’s semifinal starts at 9am with the winner advancing to the grand final against Cassowaries at 1pm.
