CAPITAL Rugby Union (CRU) kicks off its season with Wanderers facing Valley Hunters in the double-header at Bava Park tomorrow (1pm kick-off).
University Piggies play Nova in the main match at 3pm with matches inside Bava Park expected to be played behind closed doors.
Sunday’s double-header will see Juggernauts face the Crusaders (1pm) and the main match will see a grand-final rematch between defending champions Brothers and Harlequins (3pm).
CRU coordinator and Covid-19 manager Paul Joseph has advised all eight clubs to follow the competition’s new protocols when entering the match venue.
“Venue entry will be via the softball grounds where the Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation’s screening and temperature checks will be done,” he said.
“All rugby participants are required to adhere to the foundation’s Covid-19 protocols.
“Any rugby participant can be turned away if they do not adhere to the protocols and all rugby participants must follow the road to the Bava Park entry.
“Participants identified going to other grounds (besides Bava) within Bisini will be blacklisted and asked to leave the complex and he or she will be banned from attending CRU matches this season.”
Joseph said CRU’s game-day protocols allowed 61 persons per match with 23 players and four officials per team permitted to enter for each game.
