Defence, Butterflies clash kicks off POMRFL’s week three

WEEK three of the Port Moresby Rugby Football League (POM RFL) kicks off today with Defence facing Butterflies (pool two) at oval two of the Oil Search National Football Stadium.
Butterflies, who forfeited Royals last time out, will be looking for a win against Defence in the premier division.
Tomorrow’s fixtures will see Hohola Flies face Kone Storm (pool one) while Tarangau, who were on a bye last weekend, will meet Magani (pool one).
Souths and the Hanuabada Hawks meet tomorrow with Souths looking to go one better after a 10-10 draw with the Storm last Friday.
Sunday’s fixture will also see Paga Panthers play Royals (pool two), who missed their matches last week.
Warriors face West (pool two) on Sunday with a solid Dobo outfit expected to give West a stronger challenge this weekend while Brothers (pool one) and Kone Tigers (pool two) are on a bye.
Competition organisers have appealed to clubs to ensure their women’s teams make it this weekend for matches with as poor attendance last weekend saw all women’s matches being forfeited.
