ALL allegations against police during the state of emergency (SOE) in the Northern command have been recorded and investigations will be carried out soon, according to divisional commander Peter Guinness.
Asst Commissioner of Police (ACP) Guinness said any wrong doing by police or issues relating to their conduct during the SOE had been registered.
“For the Northern command, there have been a couple of complaints levelled against police, we will have them investigated and dealt with accordingly,” he said.
ACP Guinness said people still did not appreciate the need to follow health and safety protocols in order to protect themselves against the Covid-19.
He said social distancing was something people were not adhering to because of ignorance and cultural concerns.
“There is no social distancing as people coming into town and at the villages still live in and gather in one place,” he said.
ACP Guinness said, however, social distancing was being implemented in businesses and institutions such as schools and banks.
According to the World Health Organisation, the coronavirus is still impacting countries and would do so for an extended period.
