POLICE continue to patrol the Hiritano Highway after four people were killed there last week.
While the highway is open, with vehicles travelling into Kairuku and Gulf, the Goilala people living near Doa, where the murders took place, have now decamped and are nowhere to be found.
Central police continue their investigations with no arrest made yet and police are working with the bus driver, who was seen near the murdered man from Goilala.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Anthony Wagambie Jr, the driver was helping police identify those who were involved in the initial killing.
“Now that this has happened, it is causing inconvenience to the many people from Kairuku, Mekeo, Bereina and Gulf province,” he said.
