Police investigate father, son deaths

POLICE in East Sepik are investigating the death of four people including a father and his young son at Wingei in Yangoru on Sunday, says police commander Supt Albert Beli.
He said the other two dead were a driver and his sidekick.
Beli said they had driven from Wewak to Wingei village where the driver repeatedly rammed into a house.
The driver and his assistant then left for Maprik before returning.
The villagers who were waiting for them on the road confronted them.
He said a fight ensued resulting in the death of the four.
He was also informed that the Wingei High School was closed after the death of the four.
He said police from Wewak were sent to Wingei to assist local police from Yangoru monitor the situation in the village.
He said it was alleged that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
