Police out in full force

NATIONAL Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N’dranou launched a 12-day police operation for the Christmas-New Year period with a police motorcade through the city on Friday.
Perou said the show of strength was not meant to intimidate people but to ensure that the festive period was celebrated in a peaceful manner. It will end on Jan 2.
“We are all committed to ensuring that the people attend church and enjoy the New Year peacefully.”
Perou urged city residents to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace during the Christmas and New Year period.
“Just like during the hosting of the Apec meetings, I urged the residents to help police provide a conducive environment for the peace and good order to prevail,” he said.
“ I encourage the residents to be our partners again as we strive to achieve a good outcome for this festive season.
“This is responsible and better celebration for both the Christmas and New year period.”
