Police preparing budget for LLG elections

POLICE are preparing their budget for security operations during the local level government elections next month.
A spokesman for the commissioner said they were working with provincial election steering committees on the budget.
The Government has allocated K100 million to the Electoral Commission to hold the elections.

  • Nomination is from April 25 to May 2.
  • Campaigning is from May 25 to May 8.
  • Polling is from May 9 to May 22.
  • Counting is from May 23 to June 13.
  • The return of writs is expected on or before Thursday June 13.

Inter-Government Relations Minister Kevin Isifu is asking provincial governments and district development authorities to share the cost and provide resources during the election process.
