Police probing car accident after one death

POLICE in Madang are investigating the death of an employee of the British American Tobacco (BAT) who was involved in an accident near RD Tuna Canners along the North Coast Road in Madang on Saturday.
Madang police commander acting Supt Mazuc Rubiang said the accident happened at around 7.30am when the company bus was on its way to pick up employees.
The bus collided with a Toyota fifth element travelling to Madang town.
Acting Supt Rubiang said five people were in the bus.
“One of the BAT employees was seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital but died while a 14-year-old, who was in the fifth element, was seriously injured and is admitted at the hospital.
“The driver of the fifth element escaped.
“The others who are also injured were taken to the hospital for treatment; we are investigating the matter.”
