THE Police and State Services Savings and Loans Society (PSSSLS) has embarked on improving its operational lending services to make it easier to track records and detect fraud.
General manager Charles Inapi said the PSSSLS has upgraded the current information technology system from “Ultradata Facts” to “Ultracs3 Core” Banking Solution (CBS).
He said the CBS aimed to ensure the society had the latest, reliable and most-robust technology that could be utilised and understood by clients and users.
“The information and technology (IT) section of PSSSLS embarked on a major project in upgrading the current management information systems (CMIS) of the banking solution from ‘Facts’ to ‘Ultracs 3 Core Banking Solutions,” Inapi said.
PSSSLS board chairman Peter Guinness said the shift from “Ultradata Facts” to “Ultracs 3 CBS” system was to bring much improvement in the society’s lending and business processes.
“Most importantly, we are able to increase customer satisfaction and improve customer service,” he said.
Primary components of the upgrade will include the following modules:

  • People and relation:  a web based, user friendly application utilised by the lending, marketing, member and client services for maintenance of customer records and transactions;
  •    Branch delivery system :  an application to be used by the society’s branches to process cash or cheque transactions and pay out of loans and refunds.
  •    Origen loans processing: the application will be used by the lending officers to eliminate manual paper work of loan approvals and processing, giving improved services to customers.

The online process sees that loans are loaded, processed and submitted in a systematic assembly line, improving customer satisfaction and loan processing time; and

  •    Internet and SMS banking applications will improve services for all employed workers, especially the members outside of Port Moresby.Members would be able to check balances and process transactions via the internet or mobile services.
