HOTSPOTS will be targeted as police continue their Christmas-New Year operations in the city.
Zone commanders within NCD have been charged with ensuring that hotspots identified in their zones are policed with visibility expected.
Met Supt Perou N’dranou said the commanders had been told what to do and they were expected to complete their task under what they had presented to the NCD command.
“It was a quiet evening on Christmas Day, and for New Year’s Eve and Jan 1, we want it to continue,” he said. “Police will be out at the hotspots identified by the commanders.
“Any issues will be dealt with quickly.
“Road checks continue with emphasis on no drinking and driving.
“We have done awareness in the settlements and the city so with alcohol we expect no major issues.
“Zone one commander Fred Tundu, zone two commander Tobby Hamago and zone three commander Nelson Chanei will be out on Dec 31 with their men at each of the check points and their zones.”
