Police wait for witnesses to identify suspects in murder

THREE men picked up by Mt Hagen police in relation to the death of a Nipa man at Hagen city in Western Highlands are waiting for witnesses to identify them before charging them.
The deceased was Philip Lo, 32, married with two children from Nipa district in Southern Highlands.
Lo was killed on December 8 near Premiers Hill after a fight broke out among some youths from Kagua and Ialibu.
Acting provincial police commander Chief Inspector Nick Korando said the three suspects were picked up the next day and they were in police custody.
Korando said police were waiting for witnesses to come forward and identify the men.
He said Hagen criminal investigation officers were working on the matter.
Korando said two young girls were also picked up for questioning over the death but they were released without charges.
