POLICE are yet to receive a report on the three homes allegedly burnt by police officers at the Two-Mile settlement in Port Moresby, Metropolitan Superintendent Benjamin Turi says.
He said people must lodge their complaints with the police to investigate such matters.
Owners of the three houses accused police officers of burning them down on Saturday.
“There was nothing reported to the station about the alleged burning of houses,” Turi said.
“People must understand that complaints have to be reported if it is regarding officers. Instead of going  straight to the media.”
House owner Justin Kour said more than 20 people including children were now homeless.
Kour told The National that police were in the area on Friday night to address antisocial behavior in the community.
He alleged that they returned in the morning and torched the houses.
The families are seeking assistance from NCD Governor Powes Parkop and Moresby South MP Justin Tkatchenko.
