POLICE have confirmed they are yet to receive official complaints from the relatives of the deceased from the Koki and Saraga killings that occurred last week.
According to police, the investigations of the killings had not been started because no official complaints had been lodged at their respective stations and no paperwork filed with the NCD Criminal Investigation Division and homicide team.
Last week, villagers from Koki clashed with settlers from Hela, after a man from Wanigela allegedly died at the scene after a confrontation over pickpocketing.
The clash started on July 12 (Sunday) and continued to the next day (July 13).
However police were quick to defuse the situation with Police Minister Bryan Kramer and Member for Moresby South Justin Tkatchenko talking to the villagers and settlers.
On Sunday of this week, another death of a youth allegedly at the hands of police sparked a confrontation between the people of the Okapa Block in Saraga, Moresby South and police on the main road.
Acting NCD Met Supt Christopher Tamari confirmed that three armed robbery suspects were caught last Wednesday by police with the help of the public.
One of the suspects died a few days after his capture thus sparking the confrontation.
