The National continues support for park

The National newspaper has announced its continued support as a major partner behind the Port Moresby Nature Park in enabling it to promote educational programmes and events through the paper.
This is the third year that the parties have worked in partnership.
Nature Park chief executive officer Michelle McGeorge said their partnership with The National was key in enabling the park to reach a wider audience across the country to drive awareness on the importance of Papua New Guinea’s wildlife and biodiversity as well as keeping residents up to date with its work and activities throughout the year. “We are delighted to continue our partnership with The National,” Mc George said.
“The partnership provides the park with the opportunity to create ‘Kids Nature Tok’ as part of the back page in Thursday’s Liklik National,” she said.
Each week, the park prepares an educational lesson on topics ranging from wildlife, conservation, culture and the natural environment that is published alongside activities taking place at the Nature Park for those residents who can visit the park, such as the BSP Trash to Treasure Festival which is currently on at the Park until August 30.
Marketing manager of The National Veronica Marshall said on the partnership: “We are proud to have supported the Nature Park for the past three years as a platform to share their educational messages on PNG’s wildlife and conservation efforts which are important.”
The Port Moresby Nature Park is a charity organisation that relies on grants and donor funding to operate.
Nature Park is open every day.
It has in place a number of additional Covid-19 safety measures, along with ensuring of proper social distancing practices and promoting of washing of hands and importance of self-sanitisation in public spaces within the park.
