THE Corporate Touch Port Moresby (CTPM) is expected to host its first super 4s tournament in June as it prepares to select its bests talent ahead of the 2024 National Touch Championship set for Lae, Morobe.
President Elsie Girisa said while the requirements of this tournament would be made known soon, it would be open to the public who wish to register a team.
“The super 4s touch footy tournament will be like a one day or a weekend tournament which we scheduled for around June,” Girisa said.
“It’ll be open to the public who would like to register a team and it’s also to help us raise funds to prepare for the national championships that will be in Lae come September.”
She said this tournament would require only four players on the field for each team with substitutes.
“Once we confirm everything we will open registrations for the tournament and then place teams into pools,” she said.
“From the round robin matches, only top two teams from each pool advance into the quarterfinals. There will also be cash prizes and awards. For this super 4s we are targeting open women’s and open men’s division.
“We will be posting the details on our official CTPM page on social media soon.”
