AFTER three days of competition, four teams remain undefeated in the Port Moresby Super 9s rugby league challenge.

The event initially scheduled for last Friday at the Lloyd Robson Oval, started on Sunday but had seen a couple of teams been forfeited to get an entry to the finals.

The finals will start today.

It is a pre-season challenge for teams taking part in the Port Moresby rugby league competition but the Kone Tigers and Brothers teams have not been participating since Sunday.

However, Dobo Warriors led by the Abavu brothers Tony and Joshaia, are one of the undefeated sides and are proving a threat to the Butterflies and last year’s champions Kawaso Defence. Both sides are in the running for the top honours.

Last year’s winners Souths were kicked out of the event and gives Defence the opportunity to retain the Cup.

However, it will depend on their performance today.

Yesterday, West beat Royals 22-4, 7-Mile Jets defeated POM Diwai 10-6 and Warriors nailed Defence Green 14-0.

There were more forfeits in the other games. Kone Storms, Team Central, Hawks Green, Tarangau, Paga Panthers and Defence Gold bagged two easy points over their opponents.

Meanwhile, PRL chairman Labi Amaiu thanked Digicel PNG Ltd for supporting the challenge.

"The Cup winners will walk away with the Cup, prize money and mobile phones courtesy of Digicel," Amaiu said.
