Popondetta to host Besta Cup Southern leg

 POPONDETTA in the Oro province will host the Southern Region Leg of Besta FA Cup challenge.

Southern region Besta Cup executive Simon Koima said the tournament would be staged from August 22-24 in Popondetta. 

Last year’s Southern leg of the Besta Cup was held in Alotau, Milne Bay. The International Food Corporation sponsored-Besta FA Cup Challenge would be contested by affiliated clubs from the region.

Koima said the PNG Football Association Southern Region is now calling for expressions of interest from full member associations (MA) and associate members to confirm their participation. 

“We’re calling on affiliates and associates to confirm their men and women’s sides,” Koima said. 

He said there would be a D-licence coaching course and refereeing refresher course held prior to the games from August 19-21.

The deadline for nominations is on April 30 and the dead line for affiliation and player registration fees is June 30. For further information please contact the coordinator Simon Koima on 3232591.
