Porebada win U21 title at Hiri tourney

POREBADA won the Kairuku Hiri netball Under-21 crown beating Roku 22-13 in their grand final yesterday at the Rita Flynn courts.
Porebada, who are nestled in the capital kept their Fairfax Harbour neighbours at bay for most of the decider and motored away in the final quarter against an enthusiastic Roku.
In the U17 final, Papa etched their name on the silverware with a slim 11-10 win over Barakau.
In U15 decider, Boera tamed Kouderika 16-6 in a tense match.
In the U13s, Kouderika shocked the unbeaten Boera 18-11 with a second half surge that saw them put a 10-point gap between them and their more fancied rivals.
The presentation of medals and trophies for the junior finals will be done today at 3pm.
The seniors, masters, A and B grade competitions tipped off yesterday with their finals set for tomorrow.
