The Port Moresby Racquets Club (PMRC) begins its annual squash competition this week.
The competition involves 15 teams, with five sides each in grades A, B and C.
PMRC squash director Merlyn Alarcos-Kriebisch told The National that interest from teams had been increasing each year since the competition’s introduction.
A-Grade matches will be played on Thursday nights, B-Grade on Tuesday nights and C-Grade on Wednesday nights.
“Registration is closed but they can come forward for the next season,” Alarcos-Kriebisch said.
“The competition is open for anyone. With the facilities that the Government has provided, there’s a growth in squash and tennis.
“People who used to play before have now come back. “
