As Christmas approaches, Port Moresby started the celebrations with various cultural performances plus amateur modelling and carols.
The event was held outside the Sir John Guise indoor complex at Waigani.
Members of the Port Moresby City Markets set up stalls to display and sell artefact, jewellery, clothes and other goods as several singing and dancing performances were held. Most of the performers were children and youths.
Five-year-old Ethan Lebut from the Philippines was one of the crowd favourites.
Lebut said the show gave him great courage and he was looking forward to becoming a professional singer one day.
“I want to be a great singer one day,” he said.
Lebut’s father Kenneth Lebut, who is the marketing manager for Stratostream Ltd, said: “It was his first time to be on stage and to perform in public and we’re proud of him.”
The event created opportunities for young people to showcase their talents in singing, dancing and modelling, as well as for members of POM City Markets to showcase and sell their products.
