TWO teams under Port Moresby Soccer Association competing in the Women’s National Soccer League have recruited two PNG internationals to boost their performance for the competition which kicks off tomorrow.
Port Moresby City FC and Port Moresby Academy were joined by internationals Ramona Morris and Jacobeth Bani who flew in from Madang last week to strengthen the sides’ midfield and attack.
PMSA president Joseph Ealedona said the association was supportive of the women’s league and thanked the PNG Football Association (PNGFA) under the presidency of John Kapi Natto for making the women’s football dream a reality.
“It is a bit emotional seeing the girls train hard at Bisini,” Ealedona said.
“Not only the PMSA teams but FC Genesis, Hekari and NCD FC.
“Seeing these young girls commit themselves, it will be really wonderful to see the kick off tomorrow.”
Ealedona said PMSA senior team, POM City FC will go up against NCD FC and they can feel the excitement already.
“Our Academy team will play against a very strong FC Genesis team whose players are senior and experienced PMSA players,” Ealedona said.
“But we are confident that we will be competitive even though we have played them twice in friendlies and lost.”
