Post PNG proved too strong for Unitech, beating them 8-5 in the Huon Darts Association competition over the weekend.
Post PNG, led by Lepani Karigawa, collected three points before Unitech was able to register their first.
They powered on to post another two points before Unitech could register their second.
Jacob Mamogoba and Jackie Kiaka combined well to bag Post PNG’s next two point in their singles matches before Unitech collected their fourth through Camilla Yanabis.
Post PNG’s Eddie Bue won his singles match, securing his side’s eighth point.
Unitech tried desperately to claw their way back into contention but could only manage their final point through Paul Kiaka.
In the other games, Sergeants Green maintained their winning record by defeating Officers 7-6 and Sergeants Gold beat Hauslain 31 by the same scoreline.
Sappers 1 and 2, Aces and Zulu Black will look to get off to good starts when they join the competition this weekend.
Their two outstanding games will be played as washouts on dates yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, the Huon Darts Association has called on all captains to attend its first meeting at 11.30am on Saturday.
The meeting will focus on the election of executives to manage the association in its debut season.
