NSL enters final round of games

THE National Soccer League (NSL) will enter its final round of matches this weekend, with 10 cancelled fixtures yet to be played.
The NSL management is yet to confirm the dates of the fixtures.
NSL manager Leslie Babaga revealed last week that some franchises were having problems with fulfilling their requirements, resulting in the accumulation of cancelled games.
It is understood that the NSL management is working on a rescue package to complete the fixtures and finals this season.
This is the Papua New Guinea Football Association-sanctioned competition’s second year to run without a naming rights sponsor after Telikom PNG pulled out last year.
According to the draws, FC Momase, who have five matches cancelled, are on a bye this weekend.
From the seven matches they played this season, FC Momase recorded one win, two draws and four losses.
FC Momase manager Simon Koima revealed a week ago that financial difficulties had caused them to miss several games. They played their last game on March 17 (round eight) where they lost to FC Morobe Wawens 1-0 at the PNG Football Stadium in Port Moresby.
FC Momase were supposed to play Buang FC but the Morobe-based side did not make the trip to Port Moresby.
The Port Moresby-based club did not make their next three away matches (two in Lae and one in Madang).
The NSL management is still waiting for clubs like FC Momase to fulfil their requirement to play their missed games.
