Post PNG releases stamps featuring orchids

POST PNG continues to release definitive and commemorative stamp issues on special events and subjects of interest each year.
The Post PNG Philatelic Bureau announced this month’s issue would feature orchids because of their popularity worldwide.
Post PNG Philatelic Bureau manager Banian Masiboda said the release on Monday was the seventh of 11 issues for this year.
Masiboda said with a vast variety of orchid species at hand, they would continue to amaze worldwide collectors with new discoveries as and when they were made.
He said the London Olympic issue would be released on Saturday followed by another on Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee.
“The Diamond Jubilee issue will be released on Nov 5 to coincide with the royal visit,” Masiboda said.
He said this particular issue would be quite special as it would be launched by the Prince of Wales as the world watched.
