Poultry association runs training on raising broilers for market

THE Poultry Industry Association organised a training for poultry farmers in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands to teach farmers and individuals how to raise broiler chickens.
Association president Stanley Leahy told The National that the training was about educating poultry farmers and other small-to-medium enterprises (SME)owners on how to raise broilers for the market.
“As the association looking after poultry farmers in the country, we want to ensure everyone is on the same page, delivering the same quality across the board,” Leahy said.
The training is to provide technical, operational and industry support to farmers in Mt Hagen and surrounding areas.
Topics covered ranged from bird management, disease control and awareness and industry developments aimed at supporting the industry.
