Powi has done a good job

Letters, Normal

SINCE his appointment by Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare as SHP acting administrator way back in 2007, William Powi has performed admirably.
He did not waste any time to utilise his administrative skills to put in place the public service mechanism before the 2007 general election.
As a result, the election was conducted smoothly.
His management is transparent and we have seen the results.
They include the launching of the five-year plan, recent publication of selected applicants of senior public servants by an independent private company without political interference and SHP Tenders Board advertising for tenders.
The facts and figures will only come from PNG Auditor-General’s office but the general view is that, as an administrator and a public servant, Mr Powi has done a good job.
