The Maip-Mulitaka Rugby League and Sports Association sponsored-Hohola off-season is set to start this weekend.
Association president Samas Yei Talin is calling on teams to send their expression of interest if they would like to participate in the competition at Ipi Park.
He said last year’s competition ended in the last week of August and presentations were made to the winning teams in their respective divisions.
Yei said National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop and The National Capital District Commission’s sports desk released K30,000 to the association, which was used to pay the winners, security, match officials and buy trophies for the winners.
He thanked Parkop for the support.
“Last year is done and dusted, and now we are looking forward to 2018,” Yei said.
“We have already drafted our plans for this year’s off-season competition.
“We are only waiting for teams to show their interest before the start is announced.”
Yei said the registration amount was yet to be set by the competition organisers.
“It will be made known to the public after the first meeting about 2018 off-season on Wednesday,” he said.
Yei said he would include women’s teams in competition this year.
“Our target is to improve the standard of rugby league, especially in Hohola,” Yei said.
He said for more information regarding registration, Samas Yei and Stanley Angoro could be contacted on 79081052 and 70698948 respectively.
