Villagers undergo sports enhancement programme

THE Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation, in partnership with Hubert Warupi’s Pacific Sports Media Marketing company, completed a four-day sports enhancement programme on Friday.
The Oceania Sports Education Programme, aimed at helping develop youths through sports, was held at Boera in Hiri-West.
It attracted participants from Porebada, Boera, Papa and Lealea.
Program coordinator Hubert Warupi said 34 participants, including 12 women, underwent the programme to equip themselves with knowledge in community administration and coaching.
“Most of the participants were between the ages of 18 and 35 years,” he said.
Warupi said the programme would enable youths to impart knowledge on active and healthy living through sports.
“The participants will take away skills into their respective communities,” Warupi said.
