Principal, students build court

TEACHERS and students of Waghi Valley Secondary School in Jiwaka are delighted after opening a new basketball court on Saturday.
The occasion coincided with Waghi Valley hosting a sports programme for teachers and their families from all the high and secondary schools in Jiwaka.
Principal Betty Wena and a group of students constructed the court using the school’s funds. “We have a soccer and rugby field, and a volleyball court but no basketball area,” Wena said.
“But we are happy that we have one now.
“I thank my students for working very hard and sacrificing their time, effort and energy for this project.
“Wherever they go, they will know that they have left behind a legacy at Waghi Valley.”
