Prisoners start new crusade

Faith

At least 285 prisoners gave their life to Jesus with 39 of them getting baptised at Bomana Prison last week, said Pastor Peter Dege.
Pastor Dege, of the Agape ministry group, from the Tru Church of Jesus, was invited by Bomana Prison authorities and two former prisoners.
Joseph Wai, 43, who was serving a four-year jail term and now on parole, and George Nogini, 40, who was released last month, organised the week-long crusade.
“We fully gave our lives to Jesus in the prison and wanted fellow inmates to change too,” they said.
“Many pastors from different churches visit with gifts of food and Bible which has changed the minds of inmates”.
“But they needed someone to preach the word of God through the power of the Holy Spirit that can touch and change lives, so that when they come out, they will be changed people.”
Pastor Denge said that he “attended to this invitation with a focus to convert and baptise inmates”.
Prisoners serving long jail terms have become spiritual leaders in the prison.
