The National, Thursday 04th April, 2013

I REFER to the call by flexible and open distance education (FODE) students in Eastern Highlands for principal Demas Tongogo to resign due to his inability to resolve problems and his non-performance in service delivery (The National, March 27).
I applied for a job as FODE consultant but his office replied that these positions are only for expatriates.
I am a national and a trained teacher with postgraduate qualifications from a prominent university in Sydney.
I occupied senior positions in the department of education when the principal was training to be a teacher.
I call on the education department to conduct an investigation into such discriminatory practices in the institution.
