Process nears completion

THE liquidation of Kambang Holdings Ltd is about to be completed, according to Evangelical Lutheran Church PNG secretary Bernard Kaisom.
Two church members have taken the liquidator to court and the case is pending.
“During the last creditors’ meeting last October, the liquidator informed the meeting of this,” Kaisom said.
“We know that eight cases have been ruled in favour of the church. Another two are fighting a legal battle against the liquidator.
“This is the reason behind the delay in the completion of the liquidation process. The Lutheran Shipping Services started after the Karkar synod in 2014, to start a shipping service. It started work in October 2018, when the mv Momase left Madang with 255 women to Lablab, Siassi, for the national women’s conference. In Feb 2019, the mv Ialibu arrived in Lae and started its runs in April.” Kaisom said the church council had agreed to have Irok Services managing Lutheran Shipping, with a one-year agreement signed with Irok last October.
They extended the agreement for another two years after it showed positive results in the first year.
