THE Port Moresby Active City Development Programme (ACDP) is setting the bar as a programme running for five years and sustaining the momentum of public interest, National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop says.
Parkop launched the 2021 programme yesterday at Ela Beach under the theme “Walk for love”.
It also marked World Day Celebrations for the next 48 weeks, including entertainment, motivational talks on health and wellbeing for all city residents.
This will include the International Women’s Day, International Day of Forest and 20 days of Activism against Violence, International Human Rights Day, Children’s Day, Pinktober, Redvember and Whitecember.
Parkop said the programme was making tangible differences in communities.
He said the programme was to initiate a positive image and to change people’s perception towards the country.
The ACDP programme has inspired the city dwellers to embrace healthy lifestyle and voluntary cleaning and community mobilisation other than the programme.
