Prophecy fulfilled

Letters

THE prophesy of Lapun Miriye has come to pass.
A score of years ago when Waldupime was still in moss and thistle in marshy boggy, home of the reeds and pitpit, a grand old man, spoke of words of things to come to pass and unraveled wonders among a bewildered listening crowd.
A wide-eyed young wanderer was I, listening eagerly from a distance.
As prophesies and words of wisdom kept pouring endlessly from gracious old Miriye, fatigue and the cold got the best of me and I had to go my way.
But I left with one astounding prophesy that stayed with me for some time and I was so fortunate that I lived to see it come to pass.
This is my take from what the great sage said: “Once the marshes are drained, here will sprout a pavilion, white and graceful, a symbol of freedom, liberty, progress, prosperity and change”.
The building will soon be accompanied by other buildings.
I could have said that is the eighth wonder.
Standing majestically tall on the crossroads going east to west and north to south, Waldupime will become a wonder.
I take my hats off to Miriye. You are now in Heaven.
