THE Southern Highlands provincial government is providing a chance to dropouts to be enrolled at Datec Learning Centre.

Governor William Powi has initiated the programme and more than 400 students have filled in their registration forms from which 60 will be chosen.

Coordinator Justin Wawi said 12 students from each of the five electorates would be picked with preference given to those with poor backgrounds.

Wawi said the Datec Learning Centre is an advanced professional certification in information technology (IT) designed by New Horizons worldwide to provide knowledge and expertise on the industry-relevant IT skills.

He said the programme would provide adequate project experience and software skills towards a successful IT career.

“This is a second chance to the unfortunate Grade 12 students who could not further their studies through the formal education system, ”Wawi said.
