Provinces urged to keep budget scorecard analysis

THE purpose of conducting an annual budget scorecard analysis is to promote structure, quality, accuracy, efficiency and consistency on budget management, a treasury officer says.
Roy Sorame made the comment during his presentation on the quarterly budget revised template in a National Economic and Fiscal Commission workshop in Madang province last Thursday.
He said West Sepik province was a good role model for the Mamose region with the highest standard in the annual budget scorecard analysing record.
“Since West Sepik province is well structured and monitors budget management. “What is the hold-up for the other province?” he asked.
Roy said to include the process of analysing, it depended first on the timeliness of the budget submission over to correctness of the budget application down to the use of own source revenue.
