THE Central government has received a title for the land on which its office is located in Konedobu, Port Moresby.
Minister for Lands and Physical Planning John Rosso described it as a Christmas gift to the people of Central for the 1.46 hectares of land.
“I can now give you the title for the land – it gives all the people of Central a sense of identity,” he said.
Central Governor Robert Agarobe said they had been leasing the land and “now we finally have the title”.
“In 2019, we registered our provincial lands board (but) could not (have) any towns plan because we didn’t have a physical planning board,” he added.
“With the assistance of the (lands) minister we established our provincial physical planning board which was established in 2020.
“We are now working on the building board names submitted.
“We should have our own building board in the new year.
“We are taking back what is ours.”
