Pruaitch thanks Opposition for prime minister nomination
THE leader of the National Alliance Party and Aitape-Lumi MP Patrick Pruaitch has thanked Opposition MPs from various parties for nominating him as the alternative prime minister.
“I thank the parties in the Opposition who like my members in the National Alliance Party moved on Nov 13 to change our political course,” he said.
Pruaitch and Bulolo MP Sam Basil were the contenders for the position.
“The current Opposition team is truly concerned about how families will put food on the table when the Marape government has not been able to stop businesses closing down and sending mixed and negative messages to potential investors in and out of PNG,” Pruaitch said.
“We have a job to do and are responsible for the wellbeing of over eight million people.
“We have to be more pragmatic than what is on offer.”
“We have turned our economy around in the past.
“And I believe we can do it again.
“We need a government that has proper development policies, which is willing to tighten its belt and provide a real way forward for its people.”

Con man PP. You don’t have the qualities of pm.
Too bad,
I would be happy if Richard Maru is nominated as APM for the opposition group. RM is the right choice…….
Sadly, they overlooked credible candidates like Dr Allan Marat, Richard Maru and made themselves look stupid.
Sorry, wrong man for the job and opposition lost their dream. Waste time and looking stupid in eyes of PNG. Belden don’t try one again.
