Public servants waiting for money

Letters

WE, the public servants who retired between June 2017 and June 2018, are still waiting for the Government to pay its share of our superannuation contribution to Nambawan Super.
We do not know how much longer we are going to wait.
We have given our best to this country, with all our good times and energy, and all we need now is a good rest.
We appeal to Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer Charles Abel and the Government to pay Nambawan Super so that it can pay us.
The 2018 Supplementary Budget handed down on the eve of Apec had an allocation of K146.1 million for the settlement of the arrears owed us through Nambawan Super.
Now we are worried because the Government accounts will close tomorrow, Friday, December 14, yet Nambawan Super is saying the money still has not come in.
Christmas is around the corner and we continue to be troubled by financial issues, including having to worry about our children’s school fees in the New Year.
We humbly request the Government to release the funds to Nambawan Super so we can get our money.
