Public solicitor’s office closed after staff tests positive

THE Public Solicitor’s office at Garden City in Boroko, Port Moresby, had been closed since Monday afternoon after a staff was tested positive for the Covid-19.
Public Solicitor Leslie Mamu told The National that the office would be closed for the mandatory 14 days to allow deep-cleaning.
“Due to a positive case on one of my staff, I have decided to close the head office for 14 days to allow deep-cleaning and for employees to go for voluntary testing,” he said.
“We are organising the contractor Pro-Pest to come to Garden City for cleaning.
“In the meantime, we encourage our valued clients to communicate with their lawyers through email or phone.”
Mamu said the closure would not affect cases handled by lawyers from the office because they had been told to take their case files and work from home.
He said lawyers who needed to attend court would be picked up from home.
He said the concerned staff had been isolated at home and awaiting transfer to the Rita Flynn Isolation Centre.
