Puma launches new lubricant products

Business

PUMA Lubricants has a high quality range of products which offers both reliability and performance while catering for all customer needs.
Yesterday, the lubricants were launched in Lae with Dunlop PNG been the sole distributor.
Puma Energy PNG technical support manager Alan Messenger said the products launched are used in light vehicles, PMVs, trucks and buses.
He said from ships right through big companies such as Hidden Valley, Puma Energy supplies them with the lubricants.
“The big thing about Puma products is we make our own products and these products are made in Singapore, Mexico and South America. Normally we get our products from Singapore,” Messenger said.
He said the products are of high quality and meet all the OM’s (Original Manufacturers) specs such as Ford or Mercedes.
Messenger said Puma send their lubricants to these vehicle manufacturers to test the products and certify for use.
“So you are not buying a cheap product, you are buying a top quality products that are certify by the manufacturer of the equipment,” he said.
“We’ve been in the country selling lubricants for two years.
“We are local company and got our own oil refinery at Napanapa in Port Moresby. And when you buy our products, you are buying a national product. We are looking after PNG so that’s Puma.”
He said there are specials going on at the moment which are clearing out some products that are not suited to PNG market.
He said PNG is a very special market to the point that Puma is making two new lubricants just for PNG.
Messenger said none of the engine manufacturers are based in Southern Hemisphere. They are all based in Northern Hemisphere.
“Building a lubricant to operate in snow doesn’t really apply to PNG so we are now building lubricants designed for this temperate climate.”
