Pupils told to repay kindness with success

STUDENTS should study hard, earn good marks and be successful to pay back the kindness of donors who freely give to their schools, an official say.
“Donors support us and want us to access good facilities and education for our own future which we need to show that we can,” said Homoka Boge, the director of the National Capital District schools’ and teachers’ appointment. He was speaking during the distribution of desks and chairs donated by a church in Port Moresby last week.
Pacific Assist, a charitable organisation in Australia which works with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, donated 1200 desks and 797 chairs to 21 schools in the National Capital district and Central.
Boge said THE material component of the government’s free education policy have come from the church through donations.
“That is very important. I must encourage the donation-receiving schools and students to use them with pride and care. Study hard, get good marks and find an opportunity up the education ladder,” he said. “If we use with care, others will continue to use them.
