Push for road links

Letters

IT was great to note the Mendi MP and Works and Implementation minister Michael Nali highlighting the missing road links in the country.
That is the way forward minister, we cannot continue to fly on Air Niugini, the most expensive airline in the world.
You and your ministry have identified some very important missing road links in the country.
Once connected by road, our rural people, those in some of the most remote places will have access to vital services which are inaccessible today.
Other developments will follow through as road access is the key to development.
In addition to the missing road links identified, one very important link your ministry missed out is the Enga-Sepik link.
If connected, Enga and other upper highlands provinces won’t need to travel to Lae and Madang to buy their coastal products.
That will help the economy of East Sepik.
Sepiks can easily come up and sell and buy items.
This will promote people to people connection and nation building.
It was enlightening to read in The National, on July 3, that the East Sepik Administration and Angoram are prioritising a road link with Maramuni, in Enga.
I ask Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas to support this vital road link by assisting the Wabag MP and Fisheries and Marine Resources minister Dr Lino Tom on his vision to connect Wabag town to Maramuni and eventually Angoram in East Sepik.
