Put right people in right locations

Letters

I am a member of Nasfund for more than 30 years now living in Sissano village, Aitape, West Sepik.
I have been contributing to the fund for more than 30 years.
I am now retired and going through withdrawal processes for more than three years now since I left employment.
It has cost me much travelling to Wewak and Vanimo to get the right requirements in place so that my retirement savings can be paid to me.
I am now tired and frustrated and have decided to use this medium to express myself so that something helpful and constructive can be done or put in place for me and my fellow contributors located in Aitape, as well as other remote areas of West Sepik.
I suggest that whichever branch is responsible for us, the contributors of Aitape as well as other remote areas of the province, should pay regular visits and update us on changes and developments taking place in the fund.
They should also let us know about other important requirements and processes.
This is so that whenever retirement catches up with us, we can be well prepared and well aware of what to do instead of going to and from one place to another costing us money, time and trouble.
It was a sad experience when I travelled to Vanimo in 2017.
I was told that I did not meet requirements for withdrawal and that I had to go back in Aitape to provide required documents.
I went over on one-way fare hoping to get my retirement savings paid out to fund my trip back.
I was lost and hopeless.
I had to sleep with wantoks and somehow look for some other way to get back to Aitape.
Please management, I urge you also to put right people with the right attitude at locations where they have the heart to serve us, no matter the geographical locations or any other reasons.
It is our money that fancy cars are bought, good uniforms are worn and high-covenant luxurious houses are afforded.
