Entering the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League New Guinea Islands Conference is a milestone for Radazz, says coach Spencer Manhi.
Manhi said although it may be the first of its kind for East New Britain teams to participate in the country’s premier football competition, the province itself had a rich history in football.
“Football is not new in East New Britain, although some might say there are not many followers,” Manhi said.
“The province has produced some talented players for Hekari United in the past.
“To play in the NSL is like reaching a dream.
“We have junior programmes in existence and now we see this as a great opportunity to showcase what we have to offer.
“Most of our players were selected from the Kokopo Urban Football Association and they were part of Team East New Britain, who won gold at the 2017 Papua New Guinea Games in Kimbe.
“We don’t have any experienced campaigners from the NSL but the talent we have can definitely produce results.
“We are extremely excited and we thank PNG Football Association president John Kapi Natto for making this possible.
“We are grateful to Warangoi Properties Limited for being our major sponsor.
“I would also like to call on all fans in East New Britain and around the country to get behind this voyage now that we are in the NSL.”
Manhi said they were yet to sort out their home venue but in the meantime, the side would play their matches in Kimbe.
