Reading promoted in Rigo

THE PNG Book Foundation carried out education and literacy awareness in a primary school in Rigo, Central, this week.
Foundation coordinator Nathan John said it also donated 650 reading books to Tauruba Primary School.
He said the vision of the foundation was to encourage reading and improve literacy skills in the country.
“That is why reading has to be encouraged in elementary and primary schools, even in the remote areas,” John said.
Head teacher John Piren was thankful for the awareness at his school and donation of books.
“Your presence also gives a morale boost for the Grade 8 students to sit confidently for their final examinations this year.”
