Recruitment powers

IT is good to hear that the delegated powers of recruitment given to departmental heads are being withdrawn.
There is so much abuse of these powers by many departmental heads.
One such department that is abusing this power is the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.
The once-upon-a-time vibrant professional department is turning into a garden of family trees.
The department has lost its focus in its mandated responsibility of providing quality legal services to the Government and the public.
The sooner the withdrawal, the better.
