Regional offices eyed to assist public servants in districts

Public Service Minister Elias Kapavore says regional offices will be set up to assist public servants working in districts as part of the public sector reforms.
“My department is looking at revisiting the old arrangement of setting up regional offices in the four regions to effectively deliver services to the provinces and districts,” he said.
“This initiative is also to support the District Development Authority and other decentralisation mechanisms. It is proposed that the setting up of public service regional offices would not incur costs but the Personnel Management Department is to consider a Memorandum Of Understanding with provincial administrations. This arrangement will contribute immensely to delivering the Public Service General Order and the Business Process to the provinces and districts and to build capacity on the ground.”
